I found the perfect app for readers

I spent some time without appearing here, sorry about that! Some things happened on the way (COVID) and I got totally useless. But with lots of rest and water I got better, and here I am again, doing what I proposed to 2023: writing!

And I came here today to share with you the perfect app for readers. Yes, I did find the perfect app for people that love books and love to have quotes. Readwise is a very popular app on the productivity circle. I heard about it from Ali Abdaal and Tiago Forte, but I never stopped to really take a look at it. When I did, it totally blew my mind!

The great thing about Readwise is that it syncs with your Kindle and all the highlights you make there goes directly into the app. But the app has many other resources too, such as:

  • If you choose, you can send these notes to your note taking app (Evernote or Notion) and it gets organized by book you read;
  • At the frequency you choose, some quotes you highlighted are emailed to you. That helps you resurface information that you read long ago;
  • It also works with articles, tweets and podcasts. You just need to sync with the apps and it is all done.

So, we are all set for the digital world. But, what about physical books? What happens with the highlights made on those? Well, that is the most amazing thing about Readwise: it has a feature where you can scan the book page with your phone and save the quote you wish. How cool is that, right?

Many of these features are for the paid version, but if you are an avid reader like me, I totally recommend you to set aside some money to invest on it. The returns are excellent.
